What is the purpose of the band?

Purpose, main Objective, and Message of the Band "Psychedelic Cosmic Ride"

Something we found interesting about the band is that they have a clear purpose for their music. They want their music to make people feel, to evoke emotions. The reason why this is really important to understand their relationship with music is that it permeates the whole of their creative and production processes. From the process of writing the lyrics to the act of performing on stage what they constantly try to accomplish is for their work to transmit feelings and emotions.

Making reference to the creative processes they carry out to produce music Pablo said that "the music is a pure expression of them as persons" and also expressed it is as if they were "in another dimension, where there's no symbols, no images, just music". The reason why those statements are so important and even shocking is that they helped us, as interviewers, to understand both how they communicate feelings through their music and how personal is their music. It is as though they left a part of them in the lyrics they write, in the music they compose, and then again when performing on stage.

Even though it was amazing to learn about the purpose of their music, it was even more interesting to hear of the background that shaped said purpose. During the interview, Pablo, the bass player, talked about the perception he and the rest of the band have of Colombia. He expressed how Colombia is a country where people get judged, persecuted, harmed, or even killed because of their being different or because they stand up for their beliefs.  This is relevant when tracing the reason why they want their music to transmit feelings because it made them realize how important it is for people to not be scared of standing up to the system. This is why the lyrics they write embody a call for justice and also for people not to keep silent.

The message they want to put out there is also closely related to the perception they have of Colombia and their region "El Cesar". It is quite simple but extremely powerful, they want for people not to be silent or hold back, but for them to listen to themselves and raise their voices. They also feel that what their region asks them to do as artists is for them to be the voice of those who can not, to stay out of their comfort zone, and to cause a change.
